Doris Olga Amaral

Passed away June 10, 2009 from gastric cancer at home in Petaluma. Age 86. Doris grew up in Ardmore, OK and moved to Northern California where she raised her children. She worked as a banquet waitress at the Flamingo Hotel in the '60's and '70's and at the Washoe House until retirement where she will be long remembered for her friendly smile and southern hospitality. Doris was a member of the Petaluma North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and found much joy participating weekly in the door to door ministry. Survived by son, Gary (Becky) Rose of Burns, OR; daughters, Linda Bolla of Petaluma, CA, and Phyllis (Bob) Read of Sherman, TX, sister June Gilliam of Ardmore, OK; brother Vernon Palmer of Ardmore, OK; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1700 Petaluma Blvd. N., Petaluma, CA 94952.
