Francis P. "Frank" DIAMOND

Passed away Feb. 1 at age 84. Born to Irish immigrant parents in San Francisco, he moved north in high school and graduated from Cloverdale High School. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954 and married Joan Mariani of Brooklyn, N.Y. while stationed in England in 1952. They moved to Santa Rosa 60 years ago. He spent 35 years as a purchasing agent at what began as Rietz Manufacturing Company, and was later known as Bepex and Berwind. He loved living in Sonoma County and enjoyed raising his family here. Frank was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church. He cherished his family and his deep friendships and was never happier than when he and Joan hosted gatherings at their home on Mark West Springs Road. He always had a joke to tell and a song to sing. He was predeceased by his wife in 2001. He moved to Spring Lake Village several years ago and enjoyed making new friends, especially Bettina Martin. He leaves son Kevin Diamond and wife Debbie, daughter Laura Laughlin and husband Matt, and grandchildren Lucas and Lexi Diamond and Katie, Peter and Brian Laughlin. A memorial service will be held Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at Spring Lake Village Chapel, 5555 Montgomery Drive. Private interment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
