Passed away on Sunday March 3, 2013 at Healdsburg District Hospital at the age of 88 years. She was born in Eagle City, Oklahoma to Walter and Carrie Dixon where upon high school graduation, her brother Dale suggested, "Come on Sis, come back to California with me". An hour later they were headed west where she settled with Dale and his wife Myrtle in Alhambra. It was there that she met the love of her life, Edward with whom she was married for 52 years. In 1947 a call from Ed's mother brought them to Sonoma County where they resided in the Dry Creek Valley until 1971 when construction of Warm Springs Dam moved them to a home in Healdsburg and a new ranch in Alexander Valley. It was in Dry Creek where they raised their children; Thom (Leigh Skizewski), Chris (Marge), and Yvonne Postlethwait (Jay). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jessica, Tatiana, Robert (Deanna), Clayton (Carrie), Blake (Aubrey), Cameron (Ashley), Courtney Mauritson and Jaynee Postlethwait, as well as six great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Linda Mauritson, her brother Larry Dixon (Norma), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband Edward; brothers Dale, Delbert and her sister Barbara in addition to her parents. The family would like to extend their thanks to her special friend and caregiver Pat Burke. As per her wishes; a private service was held March 8, 2013. Donations may be made to the Healdsburg District Hospital Volunteers where she donated her time for about 10 years after retirement. Arrangements by Fred Young F. H. Cloverdale, 894-2540
