Glenn went to a heavenly place on April 5, 2014. He was born November. 25, 1937, to Clayborne and Inez Morris in Butte, Montana. This wonderful man who gave so much to so many served in the U.S. Air Force
as an electronics tech. He built custom homes in Marin County and worked for the Post Office in Petaluma before he joined the California Highway Patrol in 1967. Glenn worked patrol in San Francisco, then in the Marin and finally in Sonoma County. He served proudly for 20 years and seven months, retiring in October of 1987 due to heart bypass surgery. Once he recovered he was retrained as an electronics tech and worked several years for Broderbund in Novato. In retirement, he volunteered for four years to participate - as McGruff the Crime Dog - in safety presentations that his wife, Roz, prepared for school children in Santa Rosa. From 2003 to 2007 he volunteered on the ground crew of Henry 1, the Sonoma County Sheriff's helicopter Glenn also co-managed, with Roz, the gift shop at Sutter Medical Center. He served as vice president of the of the hospital's Auxiliary board. And most recently he volunteered at the Windsor Chamber of Commerce and Windsor Senior Center. Glenn was loved by so many aside from his wife, Roz, and his sisters, Carla Sletten, Linda Johnson and Roberta Oxley; his daughter, Carlynn Thompson; his son, Rhett Morris, his wife, Cindy, and their son, Trenton; and many nieces and nephews. Thank you for 35 years of sweet bliss. Rest in peace, you sweet, gentle soul ... Heaven is a better place with you there. A celebration of Glenn's life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 26, at the Windsor-Healdsburg Mortuary & Crematory, 9660 Old Redwood Highway, in Windsor.
