80, Passed away peacefully on June 21, 2013 at the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. He was born in Cook County, Georgia some ten miles from the small farming community of Sparks on October 20, 1932 to Claude and Annette Dorsett. At the age of 5, his family moved to Atlanta for employment, later working in industries supporting the war effort. After World War II, they relocated to Miami, Florida. Glenn joined the Air Force and was deployed in French Morocco as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War
. After he was discharged, he pursued his education and graduated from the University of Florida
with a Degree in Insurance. It was during this time that he met, and married, the love of his life and lifelong partner, Irene. During those lean years, they supported themselves by Irene's job at the University hospital and Glenn's two part time jobs during school and working summers driving concrete mixer trucks. Upon graduation in 1960, Glenn was hired as an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance in Miami, Florida. He enjoyed a successful 38 year career at State Farm, being promoted repeatedly and eventually retiring as Regional Vice President of the North Coast Region in 1998. Glenn's career took him and his family on an exciting journey living throughout the country in Florida, Arizona, Illinois, Missouri, and California. After retirement he and Irene spent their time living in Santa Rosa, California and Durango, Colorado. Glenn lived by the motto "Work Hard, Do Good, and Have Fun" and lived it to the fullest. Leadership positions followed Glenn throughout his life, and he served on many corporate and nonprofit boards, often as Chairman. He was well known as a developer of people and as a mentor. Glenn loved to be outdoors whether playing a round of golf, doing outdoor projects, or riding his Harley. He was an avid reader and loved to travel with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Irene, his inseparable loving partner for 54 years. Glenn was extremely loving and proud of his two sons, Phillip, of Santa Rosa, and Rayman, of Hoboken, New Jersey. He is also survived by his brother, Rayman, and brother-in-law, Joseph Maglica, as well as his loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27 from 4-7:00 p.m. and a vigil service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95405. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28 at St. Eugene's Cathedral, 2323 Montgomery Drive, Santa Rosa CA 95405 with burial services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2930 Bennett Valley Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 immediately following.
