Heidi Suzanne ZIMMER

Age 39, passed away in Santa Rosa on July 26, 2013 after a brave fight against breast cancer. She was born in San Francisco on September 18, 1973, to parents Richard R. and Barbara H. Zimmer. Beloved mother to Jay Zimmer; adored sister to Lorilee (Zimmer) DeSantis and her husband David; cherished aunt to Alexandra and Julia; dear eldest daughter to parents Richard and Barbara Zimmer of Santa Rosa; niece to uncle G. Rich and aunt Jacqueline Hubler of Los Altos. Heidi graduated from El Molino High School in 1991 and received a bachelor's degree from Sonoma State University in Liberal Studies; she later earned a Master's of Science degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction in 2012. She taught math at Montgomery High School. She was passionate about teaching and helping her students learn and had a huge impact on many students in the Santa Rosa community. She was a charter member of the Evening Rotary Club of Santa Rosa and was an advisor for the Montgomery Interact Club; she also chartered the Rincon Valley Middle School Interact Club of Santa Rosa. Heidi was dedicated to the "" walk-a-thon to raise money for the . As a friend, teacher, and Rotarian, she was a shining example of love, compassion, and determination. She will be greatly missed and always remembered. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate her life on August 17, 2013 at the Community Church of Sebastopol, 1000 Gravenstein Hwy North, Sebastopol at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Evening Rotary Club of Santa Rosa, P.O.
