Helene Kissick, formerly Helene Abbott, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2012 after an amazing 9yr battle with 4th stage breast cancer. A loving and proud mother and grandmother, Helene is survived by her children, Corinne Murray(Pat), Maureen Greenfield(Ted), Erin Morales (John), Colleen Blinoff (Darrick), ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Helene was predeceased by her beloved son Sam, her parents Jack and Catherine Cannon, and her brothers James Wiggin and Jack Cannon. Helene became a hairstylist at 19 and worked in that field for most of her life. She was also a sales rep for West Coast Beauty Supply for 20 years. Helene excelled in both careers. Her excellence in sales showed when she won trips year after year that gave her the chance to travel to Tahiti(twice), Fiji, Europe, Canada for skiing and New York. Helene's opportunity to travel particularly delighted her children who took turns taking the trips with her. She worked incredibly hard, raised five children on her own and deserved all the good things that came her way. Helene had great personal style that showed in her manner of dress and her home where she enjoyed giving wonderful parties for her friends. Helene's family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Fan Zhang and the wonderful staff at the infusion center at Kaiser who helped give Helene many wonderful years after diagnosis. Helene will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. A celebration of Helene's life will be held at Vista Del Lago Clubhouse in Santa Rosa at 3150 Lakeview Dr. on Saturday, January 5th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Memorial Hospice of Santa Rosa.
