John Edgar HODGIN II

Passed away April 3, 2014, he was 79 years old. John was born on September 16, 1934 to John Edgar Hodgin and Helen Claire Barton. He graduated from Vacaville High in 1953. After high school, John went to Vallejo Jr. College where he played basketball. In 1954 John joined the US Air Force and was stationed in Korea and Japan. After his service, he got a job working for the California Department of Corrections in Vacaville, then Black Mountain Conservation Camp in Cazadero, where he worked for 30 years before retiring as Fire Captain in 1990. While living in Redding, John drove school bus for seven years. His hobbies included woodworking and dog breeding of Champion Bull Mastiffs, where he is a well known breeder. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years Doreen, his children, Mike, John and Debbie, his four step children, fifteen grandchildren, cousin Beth and various family members. All family and friends invited to attend a celebration of his life on April 26, 2014 at 2540 Mill Creek Rd. Healdsburg, Ca from 3-6 p.m. Please send donations to Hospice.
