Julie Zubrickas, 89 passed away December 27, 2012. Born Julie DeZuba in upstate New York, she was among twelve children. She married Joseph Zubrickas, and they had three daughters Karen and twins, Dale and Gail. In 1959 they moved to Northern California. Julie worked for over 25 years at Hewlett Packard as a production supervisor. She retired in 1986 and held many fond memories of HP. After losing her husband she moved to Oakmont in 1987. She quickly settled in Oakmont making many new friends, and took up golf, but found bocce ball was for her. She loved the activities and going on the Oakmont vacation trips with her friends and neighbors. She also frequented the Catholic Church there, but in recent years it was difficult for her to get out much. That's when she adopted a black cat, named Kitty Cat, who was her friend and companion. Her sister, Peggy Chandler, remained her best friend over the years and was a source of support for her. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe and her daughter Karen. She slipped away peacefully in her sleep. Julie's ashes will be scattered in the rose garden at Chapel of the Chimes in Santa Rosa
