Keith R. HALL

Keith Raymond Hall, husband of the late Nathalie Virginia Hall, passed away, Nov. 8, 2012 at home with family by his side at the age of 92. He was born the son of the late Edward and Louise Hall of Eureka CA., Nov. 26, 1919. He is survived by his sons Gary Hall (Tina) and Gregory Hall (Wendy) and by his grandsons; Glenn Hall (Tina), Garrett Hall (Didi) and Nicholas Hall. Keith is also survived by several great grandchildren. Raised in Eureka, he enlisted in the Navy and served as a painter during World War II. While waiting to be discharged he was stationed at the Owl's Head Naval Air Station, Maine, where he met his future wife Nathalie (Nat) and before he left for home in California, they became engaged. Soon after he returned home she followed and they were married in Santa Rosa, Ca. April 21, 1945. He remained there the rest of his life. His parents; had relocated to Santa Rosa opening a sign painting business (Halls Signs) and he returned to work with his father as a sign painter for several years, eventually going to work for Lewis Myers, a home builder in Santa Rosa. In those days the printer did the majority of the exterior and interior finish work including, taping and toping, finishing kitchen cabinets' and doors, wall papering and of course painting. When Myers retired from building after more the 30 years, he went to work for Memorial Hospital as the first in-house painter, where he worked until he retired. During his early years in Santa Rosa, he joined the Masonic Lodge, rising to the 32nd Degree. He and his wife belonged to the Santa Rosa Boat Club and enjoyed taking there boat on outings with the club, and in later years their motor home to club events. He was an active bowler and he continued to bowl with his friends until last year. He also belonged to the Sirs. Friends are invited to join in a celebration of life gathering at the Double Decker Lanes, 300 Golf Course Dr., Rohnert Park on Sunday November 18, 2012 between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The family will be holding Private services at Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
