Kent W. BAKER

Kent W. Baker, 77, of Rohnert Park, died on Friday, January 4, 2013 at EmpRes Post-Acute Rehabilitation in Petaluma, CA. Kent was born on April 7, 1935 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Earl and Ida Baker. He went to high school at Albert Lea High School and graduated in 1953. Kent then enlisted into the Army after a year of college at Mankato State University. He was given the honor of being named to the Color Guard and was mainly stationed in Japan. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he went on to earn a degree in Sociology from The University of Minnesota. Kent worked mainly in sales and fundraising over his professional career. He also loved coaching Soccer and Basketball in Foster City California for elementary and middle school children from 1986-1991. He referred to this duration as the happiest time of his life and also the most rewarding. Kent is survived by his sister, Joyce; brother John; daughter Shelby; son Mark and granddaughter Emily. He was laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on January 11, 2013. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family and friends!
