Lisa NEISINGH Obituary

Lisa Ann Neisingh, age 67, passed away in Healdsburg on March 11, 2013. Lisa was born on November 15, 1945, a daughter of Phillip and Ann (Breitholtz) Neisingh. She was born on her father's birthday, while he was in the navy and en route returning from the second World War. She started school at Lewis Elementary in Santa Rosa, then went to Slater Junior High, Ursuline and Santa Rosa High Schools, and on to Santa Rosa Junior College. She enjoyed school and had the lead part in a stage play while in college. Lisa married Gene A. Pickrell in 1963 and had two children, Jared and Jill. They lived in Sebastopol during their married life and the family attended Hessel Church. Later, Lisa moved to Los Angeles to study Art and Interior Design at UCLA and enjoyed designing residential and commercial spaces throughout Sonoma County through her business Breitholtz Interiors. Because of Lisa's love of Fitch Mountain and the Russian River, she began buying homes on the river in Healdsburg and redecorated them to perfection. She owned four riverfront vacation homes at Fitch Mountain and operated a vacation rental business. She also had two long term rental homes in Sebastopol, one which she designed and built herself. Lisa was loving and generous to everyone she knew, especially to her grandchildren - spending hours playing every conceivable game and indulging every childish whim. She was compassionate and caring and was loved and admired by everyone who knew her. Lisa also had such enterprising ideas, dedication, and an entrepreneurial and tenacious spirit. Her Christian faith was an important priority throughout her life- her current church home was at Shiloh Covenant Church in Windsor. Her kindness and love and God-given talents will be missed tremendously. She is survived by two children, Jared (Alexandra) Pickrell and Jill (Dell) Jensen, five grandchildren, Tyler and Alaina Pickrell, and Karl, Kyle and Kajsa Jensen; her mother, Ann (Bill) Nichols; a brother, Tim Neisingh, and a sister, Pam Nelson. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa, with the Rev. Todd Michero officiating. Daniels Chapel of the Roses 707-525-3730

I'm always going to remember the day we walked along the river beach to visit P and found many foot-shaped rocks--you are taking the next step now, Lisa. Way too soon for us here, just right for you. Walking in lightness of being, always.
