Mary Jeanne (Kriha) LEWIN

Mary Jeanne (Kriha) Lewin passed away peacefully at the age of 82 in the early morning hours of February 17, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Donald Henry Lewin and mother of late Mary Jo. She is survived by her sons James (Pamela), Richard (Kathryn), Daniel (Katherine) and Donald (late Thomas Elleray). She is the beloved Grandmother of Christine, Johanna (Elmer Smith), Katrina, Elizabeth, Daniel and Mary Katherine Lewin, and Great Grandmother of Ethan James Smith. Mary embraced life. A lifelong Catholic, she had a rock solid faith and was ready to join her God and return to the embrace of those she loved who left this world before her. Mary was a great friend and close confidante not only to the many people whose lives she touched in the places she lived during her long happy life (Montgomery MN, Milwaukee WI, Buffalo NY, St. Petersburg FL and Santa Rosa, CA), but also to her husband Don throughout their courtship and 55 years of marriage and to her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. She possessed an amazing, sharp intellect; did daily crosswords, volunteered for her church and other charities, was a voracious reader and a master contract bridge player. Above all else, Mary was devoted to her family - and they to her. The love she spread through her relationships with all her family and friends made the world a much brighter place; she leaves a legacy of a life very well lived. Heaven's gain is our loss - her humor, wisdom and constant loving concern for others will be very sorely missed. A Memorial Mass will be held at Star of the Valley Catholic Church in Oakmont on Saturday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m.; Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mary's memory to the Assistance League of Santa Rosa, 5 West 6th St. Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Arrangements by ADOBE CREEK FUNERAL HOME, 331 Lakeville St., Petaluma, CA 94952. Condolences may be made 707-789-9000
