Maurice (Maury) John Chatfield passed away after a sudden illness on January 15, 2013 at the age of 84. He was born July 22, 1928 in Redlands California. He grew up in England during World War II and served in the British army in post-war Germany. Afterward he moved to California and lived in the bay area. He worked as a truck driver and then as a Stationary Engineer at Sonoma State College. He enjoyed his family, friends, music, guitar and singing. He also enjoyed taking trips with his wife in their 5th wheel and motorcycle rides. Maury is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Bobbie) Chatfield, sister Valerie Jean Penn, son Geoffrey (Monica) Chatfield, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and his son Brian Chatfield. Maury was outgoing, engaging and no one was a stranger to him. A celebration of his life will be held at Hessel Church on Saturday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m.
