Peter Charles HOLMSTROM

Peter peacefully experienced the change called death on March 2, 2013. He was one of the world's best Dads to his daughter, Laurel Holmstrom, and a sweet father-in-law to her spouse, Jenny Keyes. He is survived by loving family - brothers John Holmstrom of Los Angeles and David Holmstrom of Santa Fe, NM; niece, Krista Holmstrom and her husband, Tom Stryker; great uncle to their son Henry Holmstrom Stryker all of Bloomington, IN; cousin to Peter G. Holmstrom and his partner, Morton Blatt of Greenbrae. Peter was born on May 29, 1933 in Pasadena, California. He was a devout Christian Scientist all his life and a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientists in Santa Rosa. He loved playing baseball and achieved success as pitcher at Monrovia high school and Pasadena community college. He served in the 8th Army Ordnance Corps in Korea from 1953 -1955. He worked in the electronics and insurance industries. Peter enthusiastically collected Western Art and dabbled in real estate. When he retired, he moved to Santa Rosa to be close to his daughter. He enjoyed becoming a Toastmaster and was a docent at the Sonoma Mission fueled by his love of California history. He was a member of the National Fire Protection Association, the Arbor Day Foundation and the Nature Conservancy. His daughter feels enormous gratitude for the unconditional love her father displayed all his life.
