Peter Donald (Pete) BINKLEY

Age 81, a resident of Cobb, CA, died September 28, 2012, in Clearlake, CA, following a heroic battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Palo Alto, CA. on September 10, 1931, to Francis A. and Donna M. Binkley, both deceased. Peter started school in Palo Alto Unified until the family moved to Santa Rosa in 1940. He then attended Wallace School in Rincon Valley, and graduated from SRHS in 1949. He received a scholarship from Stanford and enrolled in their NROTC program, graduating with a civil engineering degree. In 1955, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USMC. He completed flight training as a helicopter pilot in Pensacola Fl., where he met his wife, Monta Ray Adams. They were married on 9/14/1956. Following his discharge as in 1959, he joined his father in Binkley Pump Service expanding it to include a lawn sprinkler business. In 1968, Peter started Binkley Alarm, one of the oldest North Bay security installation businesses. He is survived by his wife, Monta Ray, sons Robert and Glenn and daughter Debbie Kent. He also leaves behind his brother, Ted, and sisters; Carol Binkley-Prack and Michael Ann Brown; and 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and beloved friends. He will be greatly missed by all. A celebration of his life will be held 11/17 on the family property in Cobb, Ca. where Peter had many fond childhood memories and spend his last few years.
