Phillip E. Guidotti died at home in Guerneville surrounded by family on November 6th, 2013, just 13 days before his 90th birthday. He was born in San Francisco, Nov. 25, 1923, to Jessie Phillips Guidotti and E.J. "Nin" Guidotti, former Sonoma County Supervisor. He spent his life in Guerneville with the exception of 10 years attending school in San Francisco. . After the war he graduated from Santa Rosa JC. He joined his father at Russian River Realty Co. in Guerneville where he worked as an Insurance and Real Estate Broker. He later purchased the business from his father and operated until retirement in 1993. The business also included operating the Armstrong Valley Water Company until 1999 when sold to California Water Service Company. He worked for perfection at whatever project came to hand, business, community events, and especially cooking. He was a member of the 20-30 Club, the Guerneville Rotary Club

During retirement Phil served on the Sweetwater Springs Water District Board of Directors.Promoting the Russian River area as more than a summer resort was a strong goal to which he contributed much time and energy. Among his favorite past times were to cook wonderful meals for friends and family. Being a fan of the SF 49ers, Oakland A's, SF Giants, golf, duck hunting, and other sports brought him much pleasure. Phil traveled often to Italy to enhance his long time expertise in Italian food and wine. Phil was a man of great integrity who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
