Richard Leo "Poz" POZZI

On December 8, 2012, at the age of 72, peacefully joined the rest of the angels while surrounded by his family at his Santa Rosa home. He gave so much of his heart to everyone around him, that his body just could not handle it any longer. He fully enjoyed life with friends and family and anxiously looked forward to his annual family vacation and the many camping and fishing adventures. He was raised in Bloomfield, CA and graduated from Tomales High School. He worked on his parents, Leo and Clara's, dairy ranch while playing softball as a pitcher for Grayview Farms and later the Guanella Brothers world champion softball team. He later went into the bar business and has been a bookkeeper for the past 37 years. He had a true passion for sports (especially the SF Giants and 49ers), fishing, camping, vacationing with family, and being around his many good friends. He simply loved life. Poz is survived by his children, Rick (Robin), Kathleen (Larry McClure), Bill (Monica), and grandchildren, Christina, Ricky, Jessica, Michael, Michelle, Billy, Leanne, Kailee, Kevin, and Ryan. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren with two on the way. He leaves his sister Diane, many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He also leaves behind his ex-wife and lifelong companion and friend, Judy and his best friends and confidants, Larry and Denise Grove. Poz leaves behind so many good lifelong friends that they simply could not all be named. He touched everyone that came into contact with him with his generosity, big heart, sense of humor, teasing ways, and easy going demeanor. He was truly a one of a kind, unconventional and unique person that will be missed by all that knew him. A celebration of life date and time will be announced after the holidays.
