Robert L. "Bob" Fowler

82, passed away March 22, 2014 in Redding, CA. Bob was born to David and MaHaley Fowler February 23, 1932 in Santa Rosa. Bob proudly served as a US Marine from 1951-1954 in Korea. Upon his discharge he returned to Santa Rosa, where he met and married Betty Mills of Lake Co. in 1955. Bob's employment always revolved around wood in some fashion. He was a tree surgeon, became an Exporter of Exotic Hardwoods, cut firewood and kept the staff on their toes at his son's saw shop until he retired in 1998. For pleasure he enjoyed shooting trap, winning many awards over the years, he was a member of the PITA & ATA. He loved "fishin" and "huntin for gold" as he'd put it. He was also a member of the VFW & American Legion. Bob is survived by his spouse Betty of 58 years of Redding, CA; children Susan (Vince) Harden of Penn Valley, CA, Steven Fowler (Heidi) of Napa and Santa Rosa, Gerry (DuWayne) Anderson of Dodgeville, WI; grandchildren: Kyle Harden (Mary), Joseph Hargrove, Silas, Alegre and Colten Fowler; great grandchildren Robert and Masyn Hargrove and Rubysue Harden. He had many nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents David and Mahaley, and siblings Gracie, Ed, George, Sis (Loretta Tomlinson), Henry, Stan and Gert (Feuillye). Bob will be interred at the Northern CA Veterans Cemetery in Igo, CA on April 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to: The USMC Toys for Tots Foundation.
