Ross W. BEGLEY

Passed away at home in Windsor April 27, 2013 after a long illness. He was surrounded by his wife, Bruni of 50 years, all three of his children and his oldest grandson. Ross was born on January 5th, 1941 in Santa Rosa to Marcus and Margrete (Petersen) Begley. He graduated SRHS in 1958 and immediately joined the US Navy where he served for four years. In 1962 he married Bruni. Ross worked for both the Santa Rosa Police Department and Sonoma County Probation department during his 30 year career. He enjoyed simple things such as watching his grandchildren's' sporting events, Giant's baseball, a good cup of coffee, reading the newspaper, a quick trip to "The Rock" or sitting with his cat, Nick on his lap. He is survived by his wife, Brunhilde, daughter, Dawn Gonzales and her husband Curt, sons Dwain Begley and Darin Begley, seven grandchildren, Amanda, Natalie, Marcus, Andrew, Eric, Vivian and Eli, his sister Gwen Sikes as well as by nieces, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gilbert Begley and his little nephew Billy. Private interment will take place at Shiloh Cemetery on Wednesday. A memorial celebration is planned for family and friends on Memorial Day Weekend. Details have not yet been determined.
