Ruth Georgia (Finney) PELLEGRINI

Passed away on February 2, 2013 at the age of 102. Ruth was born in Boonville, CA on April 11, 1910, daughter of the late Grace and Charles Finney (Booneville's blacksmith and gunsmith). The family moved to Cloverdale when Ruth was ten years old. She married Raoul Pellegrini of Asti in 1928. Predeceased by her husband Raoul, daughter Fay Pellegrini Seghesio and brothers Ralph and Tom Finney. Beloved mother of sons Gene Pellegrini (Lee Morris) of Fairfax and Richard Pellegrini (Marie Butler) of Healdsburg. Loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Julie Neumiller (Jim), Ted Seghesio, Suzanne Gunnink (Jim), Janice Garner (Michael), Sally Wilson (Rex), Daniel Pellegrini and David Seghesio; step-grandmother of Corey Butler (Mitsuyo). Ruth is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Beloved mother-in-law of Edward Seghesio. Ruth loved camping, traveling and trips to the Sonoma coast and Irish Beach, often bringing along her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sharing her love of gardening and birdwatching. Ruth was very active in her community, a member of the Historical Society and of the Womens' Improvement Club. She was recognized by the Cloverdale Library for her seven decades of volunteerism. Ruth was a lifetime member of United Church of Cloverdale. She sang in her church choir when she was younger. In her later years, even though her vision was deteriorating, she could be seen walking around Cloverdale, visiting with friends and enjoying a good cup of coffee at the bakery. The family extends their thanks to the devoted staff at Healdsburg Senior Living and to North County Hospice. Services will be held February 23, 11:00 a.m. at United Church of Cloverdale, 439 N. Cloverdale Blvd., Cloverdale. Private interment at a later date.
