Suzanne Irene (French) FELGEN

Suzanne Irene (French) Felgen passed away in Santa Rosa, CA, on November 28, 2012 at the age of 69. Suzy was born on August 18, 1943, in Eureka, CA to Madeleine Pasco French and Arthur French, the youngest of three sisters. She attended Marshall School, Eureka Junior High school (where she was a cheerleader), and graduated from Eureka Senior High School in 1961. Her home on Herron Road in the Cutten neighborhood was a popular gathering place for classmates during those years. Suzy studied at Humboldt State University and went on to careers in public service-working for Humboldt County Courthouse and the San Francisco Visitors and Convention Bureau. Most recently, she worked for the Santa Rosa Police Department from which she retired in 2006 after 20 years of service. Suzy married Robert Felgen in 1971 and together they had two wonderful children, Forrest and Brandy. The couple later divorced. Suzy was a devoted mother whose children were the pride of her life. She enjoyed supporting them in their many interests and activities. She was very proud when Forrest realized his dream of becoming an airline pilot and daughter Brandy graduated in business from USC. Suzy was overjoyed with the recent birth of her granddaughter Brielle. Suzy was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by children Forrest (Kymberli) Felgen and Brandy (Jim) Foust; granddaughter Brielle Elizabeth Foust; sisters Louisa (Lynn) Price and Janet (Jerry) Burnette; numerous nieces and nephews and their families and her Godmother, Irene Malloy. She is also survived by countless devoted friends and colleagues. Suzy loved to cook and work in the garden. Most of all, Suzy loved to socialize. The legacy Suzy leaves behind is her extraordinary connection to the people in her life. She had the gift of friendship which encompassed her family as well as friends of every age, background, and interest. Once someone became a part of Suzy's circle of loved ones, that fortunate person enjoyed perfect support and loyalty spanning time and distance. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at The Universalist Unitarian Church, 547 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa. In keeping with Suzy's life and love of the outdoors, memorial donations are requested to the Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation, P.O. Box 123, Cutten, CA 95534, for a Memorial Bench to be place in her memory. Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral and Cremation Services (707) 525-3730
