Beloved Mother, Nonna and Lala passed away on January 24, 2013. Born in Sciarborasca, Cogoleto, Italy on May 8, 1930. Preceded in death by her loving husband Benedetto (Nietu). She leaves behind her daughter, Tina (Gary) Grelli and her son, John (Angela) Ghigliazza and her most beloved grandsons, Nicolo, Giovanni, Nicolas, Alessandro and Tomasso. Lala Tere will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces and nephews here, and in Italy. Most dear to her heart were Joe (Mayda) Cerruti and Mary (John) Banchero along with their children Brian, Andrea, Anna Maria, Joe and Daniella. Teresa survived an impoverished childhood, married and then immigrated to the United States with few possessions, and no knowledge of the language. She was a homemaker and seamstress, making suits and dresses for many San Franciscans and made most of the family's formal attire their entire lives. She cooked delicious Italian meals everyday, made focaccia and panettone, passing on her cooking skills to the next generations to continue. A Mass and burial was held on January 31, 2013, a celebration of the life and the legacy she left behind. Nonna Teresa, together with Nonno Neitu, Barba Baci and Lala Anna lived the American Dream-forging a rock solid foundation for all our families to continue building upon.
