Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 3, 2012 with her devoted husband of 66 years, Conrad Bauman, by her side. Virginia was born in San Francisco on August 28, 1927, to Helen and Sidney Pearson. She grew up in the city with her brother and two sisters. In June of 1946 Virginia married the love of her life (the country boy) while he was in the US Navy. In 1947 the city girl moved to the country (Santa Rosa) with her husband and first daughter. In 1954 they moved to Forestville with four children. It was there that Virginia loved and cared for her family. Virginia worked in the cafeteria at Forestville School back in the day when kids had hot lunches and had to eat everything on their plate. She baked desserts for school board meetings and pies for Youth Park BBQs. She taught her daughters to cook and the importance of family dinners. She was a Little League mom, working the snack shack and watching her boys play ball. She was a 4H - FFA mom, traveling to fairs with her youngest son. Virginia enjoyed trips to her home and friends in Colorado and World War II Navy Reunions throughout the states. Her favorite things were baking, gardening, junking (yard sales), and pets, especially her cats. Virginia had a wonderful life with her family and friends. Along with her loving husband, Conrad, she is survived by her children, Lynn Paine, Janet Bauman, Conrad GM (Debby) Bauman, Michael (Arcelia) Bauman, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Joyce (Norman) Sorce of Pacifica and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Sutter Care at Home for the past year, especially Cherie Aubian and Mary Kenney. Thanks to Dr. Dean Thompson of Kaiser for caring. At this time no services will be held. The family will have a celebration of Virginia's life at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Sutter Care at Home, 1110 N Dutton Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA. 95401.
