Katherine Callaway Obituary

CALLAWAY, Katherine Leigh "Kitty" Passed away after an accident on August 16, 2005 in Tillamook, OR. Kitty was born in Santa Rosa, CA on November 3, 1992 to Ken and Dorothy (Hansen) Callaway, and lived there until age 2, when the family moved to Nevada. She recently completed the sixth grade on the honor roll in Fallon, Nevada and had relocated with her family to Tillamook this summer, where they are operating a dairy farm. Kitty is remembered as a smart, dependable young person, always interested in and concerned about all of the people in her life. She loved animals, and showed her Brown Swiss dairy cows at state and local fairs. The Tillamook area seemed a natural fit for her as she loved the ocean and flying kites, and had just registered with the Tillamook 4-H Club. Kitty's favorite thing in the whole world, according to her family, was soccer, and she had played for eight years. She also enjoyed swimming and playing the violin. Her sudden passing leaves a great hole in the hearts of the many friends and family who will now treasure her memory. Kitty will be missed by her parents, Ken and Dorothy Callaway of Tillamook; by three sisters, Natalie Callaway of Sacramento, CA, Caroline Callaway of Reno, NV, and twin sister Victoria Callaway of Tillamook; by three aunts, Elaine Hansen, Doris Genz and husband Ken, and Lenore Johnson and husband Gary, all of Santa Rosa, CA; an uncle, Warren Hansen, and wife Glenda of Walnut Creek, CA; by "Grandma J", Janet Daverio of Sebastopol, CA; best friend Lena Wolf of Fallon, NV; and by her "idol", Cathy Coppini of Tillamook. A funeral service for Kitty will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 11 a.m. at WAUD'S FUNERAL HOME in Tillamook. Contributions in Kitty's name may be made to Till-amook 4-H program or the Tillamook High School Soccer program, in care of Waud's Funeral Home, 1414 3rd St. Tillamook, OR 97141.
