James Holmes Obituary

Age: 74 years. Jim Woods Holmes passed away on November 18, 2010. Loving father of Jim Holmes and Carol Holmes, father-in-law of Kendall Holmes, all of Petaluma, CA. Devoted grandfather of Christine Holmes of Eugene, OR, Shannon Holmes of Petaluma, and Nicole Holmes of Santa Rosa. Dear brother of Beverly Rocker of Encinitas, CA and brother-in-law of Ron Rocker of Salida, CA. Jim is also survived by many relatives and close friends. Jim was born in San Francisco, and later moved to Marin County where he entered the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He then began his career as a manager for UPS, working there for 20 years, at which time he eventually settled in Petaluma. After retiring from UPS, he owned and operated the Copyright and Petaluma Parcel Post for over 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed bowling and spending quality time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. As per his wishes there will not be a service. Jim, you will be dearly missed. I think of you often and am saddened that it had been so long since i've seen you. You were a great boss, you taught me so much and I really admire you. We had our moments where you pissed me off and vice versa, but we always remained great friends.

Our sincere condolences to Jim's family. I have so many fun memories of him. He had such a dry sense of humor and a kind heart under that big gruff exterior. Fond memories all around.
