Kercheval "David" Thomas

Age: 84 years. Kercheval "David" Thomas passed away at his Cotati home surrounded by his loving family on September 21, 2010. Loving husband of the late Elaine Thomas. Devoted father of "Kerch" Thomas (Mary) of Monte Rio, Ted Thomas (Darlene) of Rohnert Park, Michael Thomas (Donna) of Guerneville, Sue Bennett (Perry) of Rohnert Park, and Dennis Thomas (Roni) of Cotati. Dear grandfather of Teddy Thomas (Corina), Ginger Thomas, Michael Thomas, Jacob Bennett, Grant Thomas, Brittany Bennett, and Austin Thomas. Great-grandfather of Dixie, Addison, Gunner, and Gaige Thomas. Brother of Sherlee Betts of Sonora. Dave married Elaine Frontjos in 1947 and moved to Petaluma then Cotati in 1957, where they raised their family. He began working at Orowheat then went to work for Kilpatrick and continued working there as a salesman until he retired in 1990. His favorite pastime was fishing with his father then with his sons in the streams of the California Sierra Mountains. In 1970 he and four friends purchased the Pondarosa gold mine in Sierra County. He spent most of his retired days working the gold mine with family and friends. Dave was a Cub Scout Leader and then a volunteer fireman for Cotati. Dave also enjoyed his part time jobs as a bartender at the Green Mill Inn and the Seahorse Bar in Cotati. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at The Cotati Room, 216 E. School St., Cotati, CA.
