Ronald Bertucelli Obituary

Ronald Dennis Bertucelli peacefully passed away September 28th 2010 in Daly City, California following a courageous and long fought battle with cancer, his wife Coli by his side every step of the way. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Katherine Bertucelli both of Santa Rosa California and more recently by his older brother Robert Bertucelli of Santa Rosa. Ron was a graduate of Westmoor High School in Daly City and spent a career as a Teamster in the food distribution industry throughout the bay area. Ron spent the last 20 years of his life with his wife Coli, Who was his rock and stood by his side not only in the hard times of fighting cancer, but in the good times of life as well. He was a wonderful stepfather to her children Sarah-Maria and Dominic, and granddad to Christina. Ron also leaves behind two nephews that he was very committed to Jason and Daniel. Ron will also be missed by his numerous friends and extended family around the Bay area. Ron was an avid golfer and could be found hitting the links with his longtime friends Don, Milo, Larry, and Bob, at least once a week at the Olympic Club and other courses throughout the Bay Area. He enjoyed traveling to golf destinations such as Hawaii, Hilton Head, Scottsdale and Palm Springs, showing the locals his skills on the course. But it wasn't the challenges of the courses that he loved as much as it was the time he spent with those he cared about while golfing. Ron loved the 49ers and Giants and could be found watching games whenever they played. For the past five years Ron volunteered his time at a homeless shelter for families in San Mateo where his wife Coli works. Ron had always wanted to go to Italy to see the country where his family came from, and was able to do so before he became sick, so here is to you Ron, now that you have made it to the ultimate 19th hole, I hope you continue to hit them long and straight. Friends may visit Monday, October 4th at 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 p.m. at Duggan Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. Daly City. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date. Life long friends Don and Meredith Wood will be hosting a reception immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shelter Network.

Ron, it was a blessing to grow up with you and even better that everyone thought we were cousins. I never knew how strong you were until you put up that incredible fight for life. You are now an inspiration in my life and I'll always remember you as I enjoy what was stripped from you at such a young age. Rest easy buddy and I'll see you on the other side, where we will be making birdies in the brilliant sunset. Love You

Dear Coli & Family

So very sorry to hear about Ron - he was a great guy and friend and fought the good fight to the end.

I will forever remember all the good times we had on the golf course together, truly special.
