Curtis Muster Obituary

MUSTER, Curtis John Born October 23, 1966, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2004 in Petaluma, CA. Curtis is the loving son of Robert and Loretta, the best friend of brothers Clay, Stan and Brad, the proud uncle of Kelli and Beau, loving brother-in-law of Vicki and Laury, loving nephew of Bill Muster and Gen Smith, loving cousin of Marilyn Speck and Gayle Stephens and loyal friend of many. Curtis was the youngest of four boys, yet grew to be the biggest. Curt loved competition and the camaraderie of team sports. He excelled in football, basketball, softball and lacrosse. He also enjoyed golfing. Curt grew up in Marin County and attended San Marin High School. Curt graduated SMHS in 1984 as one of the top students in his class and lettered in both football and basketball. Curt went on to attend and graduate from Sonoma State University with a degree in Management. While at SSU Curt was a member of the nationally recognized lacrosse team. At 6'6" and 250 lbs, Curt was an intimidating force. After SSU, Curt worked for AAA, and soon became one of the companies' top executives. Curt managed several field offices, and was one of the youngest office managers ever. He left AAA to pursue a career in financial planning. Curt will always be remembered for his sense of humor, humility, loyalty, work ethic and loving spirit. Curt was a proud young man who enjoyed his independence. There was nothing he felt he could not accomplish if he set his mind to it. Curt will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. The Rosary will be said Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. also at Our Lady of Loretto. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions preferred to a charity of your choice. When I moved to Novato in 1976 our family moved across the street from the Musters and Curt was my first friend. Whenever I saw Curt through the years he was always smiling with a big "Hey Kev" whenever he saw me. He will be missed! God Bless to the Musters.

Curt and I dated for a short time in high school, and I will always remember his kindness. He was a fabulous listener who always had time for his friends. I was looking forward to catching up with him at our 20th reunion this August. I will miss him as I am sure so many others will too. My thoughts and prayers are with the Muster family during this time of sadness.

To the Muster Family, I was extremely saddened to read of Curts passing. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Curt will be missed by all that know him.

I am glad that I had the chance to meet Curt, we played softball against each other for many years in San Rafael.

Curt and I are the same height, well dang close I had him by half an inch. Whenever he came to visit me at third base he got lots of big hits!, he would stand on the bag and tell me "I gotcha now". Whenever he played 3rd we would joke about there being over 15 feet of third basemen on the field. Those moments, always a big friendly greeting. Memories I will always keep of Curt.

Curt was one of the sweetest, most genuine people I have ever met. We shared many good memories over the years, memories that will never be forgotten. I will always remember his warm smile, sense of humor, genuine love, but mostly his “teddy bear” hugs. My thoughts and prayers are with the Muster family during this difficult time.

Curt, You will always have a SPECIAL place in my heart…God Bless You My Dear Friend.

I'm glad to have been associated with Curt while working with him. He was a guy that everyone in the office liked because of his fun loving attitude. He played roller hockey with me and was a fierce competitor but also a gentle giant on the rink, conscious of his 7' presence (w/skates).

My thoughts and condolences go out to his friends and family.
