Was talking with friends about Temple Dental last week and Barry came to mind. Now, having found this announcement, it is a shock to realize that was the day of his passing.
Barry was always smiling, teasing, cracking jokes and RAVING about California . . . he HATED the 18" deep snowstorms we slogged thru in Philly!
My heartfelt condolences to Luann and the rest of Barry's family . . . all of our lives are better for having known him!

Dad and I have always been fans of Dr. Barry Baum. Barry always had a smile ready for me and made me feel welcome as a new member of the dental community here in my hometown 20 years ago and I never forgot his kindness. Dad always thought Barry were a "stand up" guy and has always held him in high regard. It was always a special treat to see Barry with his fabulous vintage cars and warm enthusiasm at the local car events! We send our sympathy and deep condolences to your family during this difficult time, Warm Regards, Dr. & Mrs. Donald and Nanci Streutker and Dr. Dawne Streutker

We will miss Barry in our lives because we thought he would always be there. He was such a strong advocate of loving and living life to its fullest in every aspect he embraced. And, if you've ever been embraced by Barry, you were truly blessed. He loved us all and was not hesitant to let you know that. Jerry & I (Shelley) met him on our 1st white water rafting trip in Stanley, ID. The 2nd trip he brought LuAnn along so she could experience the wonders we all shared. He didn't let us know he was sick. We always felt he was part of our family and someone we would catch up with a little farther down the line. We send our love to LuAnn, your children and grandchildren -- he so deeply loved you all and treasured your presence in his life. Much Love, Shelley & Jerry

Despite having known Dr. Baum for only a short time, and unfortunately close to his passing, it was obvious that he was a special person, loved dearly by his family, and clearly worthy of the immediate friendship and respect he evoked. I had the good fortune of knowing Barry prior to my move to NYC in 2000. He was always friendly, upbeat and enthrusiastic - a pleasure to be around. We last bumped into each other at a Rotary event in February of this year in SR. It was good to see him again. My condolences to LuAnn and the rest of Barry's family.

I was so shocked to hear of the passing of Barry. My friend who always had a hug for me. He was a wonderful person. Will always remember seeing him on the side of the road with his broken down truck. I asked if he needed help but said everything is ok. Barry was in my car club Redwood Region AACA. I will miss his big bright smile. Rest my friend. You earned it. My prayers go out to the family.
