I met Gerald and his brother Brian about a week after they first moved to Modesto, we all attended Beyer high school together, played football, had pizza after the Friday night games (BTW, i did not play ball at Gerald's level...i just wore the jersey for sure!) Gerald was a terrific human being, i just connected a couple of minutes ago via FB with a mutual friend of ours and the very first thing my friend 'Rod Stephens' said was how great Gerald was...this was my first communication with Rod in more than 20 years and that was foremost on Rod's mind...I think this is so typical of what everyone that I am aware of would say about or as a result of knowing Gerald...even if it's the first time two old friends communicate after 20 plus years...
To Gerald's family, i know you will miss him as will everyone, i certainly do...i know the man, so i know how he lived and therefore i know that his life was very good indeed. Until we meet again old friend>

My heart goes out to the Goren Family, I worked with Brian for many years, Now he can rest Brian. I am sure he knows how lucky he was to have family around and be his support when at times he needing it.
He was too young to be called back home, but he is also beginning a new journey. I am very sorry.

I remember your son from high school. He was a great athlete who was kind and the kind of person I would want my sons to emulate. He was too young to pass away. I'm sorry I did not stay in touch.
