I was so sorry to read about Mr. Evans. My memories go back when he helped my brother Francisco, get his mom and sister to the United States. We entered California on October 30, 1962. He was so proud to meet us, as we were to meet him and lovely wife Goldie. I still remember spending time with Goldie trying to teach me english. He was very proud when he learned I was working for the Sheriff's dept at an early age. My brother passed away five years ago, and my mom almost 19 years. I have the best memories ever I can have and new life that he made it happen for our family. God Bless the Evans Family

Dear Darla Sue and Richard,
I was so sorry to read about Lee. He was always a warm and kind person to all who knew him. My memories go back to the early sixties when Goldie, another gem, and Lee started me out as a Young Republican. I have changed that, but I still savor his genial manner and wonderful ability to look you in the and make you feel special. My late mother and father highly admired him as well. Santa Rosa has lost one of its best exemplars of honesty and fairness. My prayers go with you.

I am sorry to learn the world will no longer be graced by this wonderful, kind, and generous man. Mr. Evans was a dear man who, by his daily devotion to the things that he held dear, showed the rest of the world how to live well. I am so happy to have known him.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Evans. My sympathy to his family and loved ones. He made it past 100 years, as he said he would. It was always a bright spot of my day to encounter him at our office building. Always a gentleman with a smile and a warm greeting, always dressed in a nice suit. I am sure you will be a bright spot in Heaven too, Mr. Evans!
