Rosalyn Mason Obituary

Rosalyn passed away peacefully on September 13, 2010, in Santa Rosa under the loving care of Hanna House. She was the beloved wife of 37 years to the late Stephen F. Mason (1981) and devoted mother of the late Stephen F. Mason, Jr. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her daughters: Janice Mason-Batson, Michel Mason Stong, and Judy Mason-White; her grandsons, who adored her, Dr. Garrett W. Brown, Griffin Mason Stong, Jordan Mason Stong, and Evan Mason-White; as well as her loving sons' in law, Phillip Batson and Stephen White. Her siblings, Mary Ellen Warner, Jerry Adams, and James "Buddy" Adams and all of her nieces and nephews, survive her with great love. Rosalyn married Stephen, an Air Force officer, shortly after World War II, and her life became a brave and adventurous experience. Her first assignment as a military wife was Post War Japan and from there, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, and all of the United States became her homes. She and Stephen retired in Santa Rosa in 1976, continued their interest in sailing, entertaining friends, pursuing their avocations and caring for their family. Rosalyn was a longtime and active member of the Sonoma County Artist Round Table, painting, studying, and showing in local galleries. She was well known for her beautiful and realistic still life and landscape paintings. Rosalyn was always involved in charitable and community organizations throughout her life and was an active member of The Welfare League in Santa Rosa. The family wishes to send devoted thanks to Kerrie Hanna, David Hanna and the loving staff at Hanna House in Santa Rosa and Hidat, Mom's caring companion, for their devotion to our Mom. The excellent care and love our mother received for the past four years shall never be forgotten. We are grateful. DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE. 525-3730
