Alba Mary Emmolo

Alba Emmolo passed away on November 13, 2010 in Santa Rosa, just three weeks short of her 96th birthday. Devoted wife of the late Salvatore "Sam" Emmolo and Andy Anderson. Cherished mother of Frank Emmolo (Annie) of St. Helena. Adored grandmother of Cheryl Emmolo Forman (Ric), Marianna Stegman (Matt) and Diana Regusci. Beloved great-grandmother of seven and great-great-grandmother of five. The eldest of four, she was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Alba Mary Viviani was born in Sonoma on December 3, 1914 to Pietro and Marianna Viviani. She was reared and educated in Rutherford and St. Helena, attending the Rutherford Schoolhouse. She married Salvatore Emmolo on July 20, 1931 and together they enjoyed over 30 years of marriage, until his passing in 1966. Along with her husband, Salvatore, she worked as the office manager for their companies, Emmolo Nursery and Emmolo Vineyards. Between 1937-1948, Alba and Salvatore also ran a tomato cannery on their ranch; Emmolo Packing Company. "Lola" brand tomato puree, solid pack tomatoes and tomato paste, canned from whole ripe tomatoes, was distributed to restaurants throughout the Bay Area. In 1980 she married Andy Anderson who predeceased her in 2006. Alba was an excellent cook, and in her spare time, enjoyed crocheting. Alba also loved to travel, adventuring throughout the United States and Europe as well as the Orient and Mexico. Above all, she loved her family. She will be missed.
