Passed away gently in Sebastopol, CA, on December 23, 2012, at age 90. Betty was born in Ft. Fairfield, Maine, on July 19, 1922, was married to Norman Chiariello and subsequently to Daniel Stolle. Betty was a frequent dancer and was voted to have "Best Legs" of her senior class at Ft. Fairfield High School. In her early days, she owned a beauty shop in Maine and continued her love of hairdressing after she moved to California. She later studied to be a keypunch operator and landed a job at the Los Angeles Times, where she retired as a receptionist. Betty lived in Oakmont and had recently moved to The Lodge at Paulin Creek in Santa Rosa, where she loved her apartment and dining buddies and neighbors, and the staff were so good to her. Betty loved to laugh and was a good sport when teased by her family. During her life, she enjoyed family gatherings, dining out, crossword puzzles, cooking, her morning coffee and newspaper, gardening, reading, and sunny days. Mom always asked us to "call when you get home". We'll miss you and your sparkly eyes, loving ways, and friendship. Betty is survived by her daughter Linda Jones of Sebastopol, CA; son Michael G. Chiariello (Nancy) of Spring Hill, TN; grandchildren Rachel Escueta (Joel) and Michael N. Chiariello (Jamie), and great grandchildren Mikey and Jake, all of TN. She also dearly loved her cousins Phyllis Shaw of Maine, and Audbrey Ginn of NH. Her new granddog "Nellie" brought a radiant smile to her face, and "Gracie", her predeceased granddog, touched Betty's heart. Our heartfelt gratitude ... more than words can say ... to Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa and to Apple Valley Post-Acute Rehab in Sebastopol, for they so lovingly cared for Mom and were so kind & compassionate to all of us. Private family services per Betty's wishes. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to DogWorks Canine Rescue, 149 Briarwood Drive, Vacaville, CA 95688; Kindly mention "Honoring Betty Stolle" in a note to the rescue folks with your donation.
