Died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday January 13, at the age of 97. She was born September 12, 1915 in Patagonia Arizona. She married Leonard Contreras; they lived in Arizona before moving to Northern California in 1960 settling in the Dry Creek Valley. Together they raised six children, Alex (Ginny), Maria Elena, David, Daniel (Fern), Jesse and Maggie (Bill). She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard and daughter Maria Elena. Survived by her children, 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies, quilting, crocheting, gardening and she especially loved to put together jigsaw puzzles. She was a beautiful, devoted and loving mother to her children and grandchildren. She always had a smile and made her home welcome to friends and strangers alike. She will be greatly missed by all. A funeral Mass is set for this Friday 12:00 at St. John Catholic Church 208 Matheson St, Healdsburg. Visitation will be on Thursday Jan 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Windsor-Healdsburg Mortuary, 9660 Old Redwood Highway, Windsor. Burial will follow at Oakmound Cemetery, 601 Piper St., Healdsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the North County Hospice or West Side School.
