Dwayne Dalton Obituary

Passed away peacefully in his home in Branscomb, CA on October 11, 2010 after a long bout with cancer. He was born in Exeter, CA on September 29, 1944. He was a native of California and a resident of Laytonville for 25 years. He worked for Harwood Products for 16 years. He enjoyed bass fishing, pheasant hunting and spending time at the ocean. He was a SF Giants and 49er fan and enjoyed spending time with his family in the peaceful country that Mendocino County provided. Dwayne graduated from high school in 1962 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1963-1967. After an honorable discharge he married Randi (Champion) Dalton in 1969 they had four children. He was married for 12 years. Dwayne graduated from U.C. Berkley in 1977 with a B.S. in Conservation of Natural Resources. He was very proud to be the first in his family to graduate from college. In 1986 he moved to Laytonville to be closer to his children and enjoy the country life. He was a wonderful father and our best friend. He will be missed greatly and forever in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his father Richard Dalton, and son, Ivan Jesse Dalton. Surviving family members are mother Francis Dalton of Washington; sister Kaye Dalziell of Washington. His children Holly (Naomi Dalton) Burton, Lurane Dalton of Laytonville and Johann Dalton of Willits. His grandchildren Jeremy Burton, Matthew Burton, Ivan Dalton, Shania Dalton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
