Elizabeth Gluch

The Cookie Lady, age 84, of Cazadero, had a massive stroke on Thanksgiving Day and passed away November 29, 2010 with her family by her side. Our hearts are broken. If one thing can be said, it is that she always gave more than she received. She was born June 10, 1926 in Santa Rosa to Martha Bohan Schneider and Michael Bohan, a pioneer family in Sonoma County. In 1944 she married Stanley J. Gluch (deceased). She is survived by her children: Mary Salfi, Martha Lownes (Larry-deceased), Margaret Heil (Greg), Patrick Gluch (Kimberly) and Matthew Gluch (Michele); nine grandchildren: Lora, Steve, Malinda, Amy, Nick, Ashley, Joshua, Christine, Andre; and eight great-grandchildren: Joshua, Nathan, Tyler, Kayla, Paytin, Cambryel, Isabella, and Sophia. She is also survived by her sister Peg Canelis; her sister-in-law Vera Bohan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Henry Patrick, James and Dan Bohan and her sister, Francis Bei. Besides the Rural Food Program where she volunteered for 20 years, Betty's passion was her garden and baking cookies and pies for her family, friends, neighbors and especially Cal-Fire in Cazadero. Her family extends a big thank you to the Cazadero Cal-Fire men and women who made our Mom extremely happy. A Rosary will be recited at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, 7983 Covert Lane, Sebastopol, 7:00 p.m. Thursday December 16th. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 17th at St. Sebastian's. Memorials may be made to her favorite charity, St. Philip's/St. Teresa's Rural Food Program, P.O.
