Frederick Bauer Obituary

Passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on September 12, 2010, at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Born on November 15, 1919, in Bridgeport, Connecticut and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1943. He was active in the United States Army Coast Artillery. He married Elizabeth Worley Kelley on July 5, 1944, and they were married until her death in 1999. He earned his MBA at Stanford University and his career included manufacturing, marketing, and trading. He worked for Kaiser Aluminum, including four years in Frankfurt, Germany, and as a vice president with Martin Marietta Aluminum. He and his wife retired to Santa Rosa in 1985. He married Mary Virginia (Jini) Kelley in 2001. He is survived by his loving wife Jini; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and James Keenan, son and daughter in law Frederick and Janice Bauer; daughter in heart Lisbeth Myhre; grandchildren Elizabeth Keenan, Aaron and Kelcey Bauer, and step children Margaret, Glen, and Christopher and Mary Alice Kelley; and grandchildren Wesley and Sundown Kelley, Elizabeth and Andrew Kelley; and great-granddaughters Haven and Kadence Kelley. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 17, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 9000 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood; reception follows. Committal at Sacramento Valley National Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elizabeth Kelley and Frederick William Bauer Memorial Achievement Award, c/o Elena Vasquez, Cal Alumni Association, 1 Alumni House, Berkeley, CA 94720-7520.
