He was one of the original eight members of the Hobart President's Club, each personally selected by the President of the company, to serve as advisors and liaisons' to agents throughout the United States. He was also the owner of California Refrigeration. He was also a longtime member of the Marin Yacht Club. He became the Golf Coach for Cardinal Newman High School and coached from 1980 to 1983. During this time, the Golf Team won many championships. Loved by his golf players, his team gave him a plaque of appreciation which described their appreciation: "Coach - Father --, Friend - Pigeon". When" Big Gary" arrived in the room, with his quick wit and wry sense of humor, everyone knew a good time was to be had by all! He will be missed by both family and many, many friends.
