Herculano Fernandez Obituary

Passed away peacefully on August 1, 2010 in his hometown of Santa Ines, Michoacan, Mexico at the age of 91. Herculano was born November 5, 1918 to the late Josefa Arteaga and Crecensio Fernandez. He first came to the U.S. in 1943 as a contract worker through the Bracero Program. In 1958 he and his wife Maria moved their family to California, eventually becoming a U.S. citizen. He worked in the dairy and agricultural fields, the last 35 years in Sebastopol. He is survived by his children, Jose Luis, of San Diego; Bert [Anna], of Prospect, OR; Javier of Taft, CA; Jaime [Lori], of Eagle Point, OR; Evert [Yvonne] of Sebastopol and Maria Olivia Sandoval [Ricardo] of Petaluma; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Sebastian's Church in Sebastopol.
