Hilda Strom Obituary

Went to be with her Lord on December 8, 2010. Hilda was born in El Cerrito, CA on May 8, 1913. Immediately following high school, she earned her Registered Nursing degree from San Jose State University. She married her husband of over 50 years, Ewald Strom, on June 24, 1938. They moved to San Jose in 1948 where Ewald continued to work at Westinghouse and farm the family prune ranch. In 1960, they bought a prune ranch in Healdsburg where they lived until Ewald's heavenly home going. While living in Healdsburg, Hilda worked as a registered nurse for many years at Healdsburg Convalescent Hospital. She was a Dry Creek Neighbors' Club member for 45 years and a 50 year member of the Healdsburg Community Church. Hilda is survived by her sons Melvin (Meredith) and Richard (Loni); grandchildren Erik (Laura), Leslie (Joe) and John; great grandchildren Kelsey, Jenna and Bethany Strom and J.T. and Alana Stadum. Her family loved her and will miss her love and prayers more than words can express. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at the Healdsburg Community Church, 1100 University Street in Healdsburg, on Thursday, December 16th at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to favorite charities or to the Healdsburg Community Church. Mel, Meredith and family...I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have experienced the loss of parents and there is nothing to describe how we will miss them. But, we can rest in the Lord knowing she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God bless you all during your time of sorrow.
