Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie White, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 7 after suffering a massive stroke. A native of San Francisco, she was a longtime resident of Forestville and Santa Rosa. Her passions were golf, gardening, bargain hunting, family but most of all, her partner in life, Dave. Known better as "the loving couple", Dave and Jackie first knew each other as friends. With their respective spouses, they were part of the Hacienda social network. They both suffered the misfortune of losing their spouses within a two month span. Thanks to the encouragement of Dave's son Tom, Jackie and Dave met up again at a BBQ. They began afternoon walks and talks, commiserating on how horrible it was to be widowed. One afternoon, Dave said to Jackie, "I've got a pocketful of cash and vacation time. Let's just get away from all this and not tell anyone where we are going". Off to Disneyland and the first of many road trips, the 36 year romance was born. In that time, they put over 75,000 miles on their RV and earned the title of "snowbirds" (always on the road between January and March). Jackie is survived by her husband, Dave, her step-son Tom White, her sister Patricia Kisling, her brother Joe Vanderkooy, grandsons Bob and Mike McGarvie, granddaughter Patricia (McGarvie) Foster, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many loving friends and neighbors. She is predeceased by her sons Thomas and Robert McGarvie. Services will be private.
