Born 6/23/48, Died 12/15/13. James passed away at his home early Monday morning after a long fight with a chronic illness. James was born in Arkansas but moved to California with his family while he still a baby, and settled in West Sonoma Co. James served in the military in his youth, but upon his discharge returned to, and remained within, Sonoma Co. throughout his life. To say he had a full life would be to understate it. On paper, and what could be printed in a paper, is just a small part of the overall life he led and the hobbies and pastimes he pursued. James was a man who was always fascinated and motivated by gaining knowledge of all types and the conversation he would have with those who would share it. He also helped as many people as he could through life, and was the first to lend a hand to you if needed it. He will be missed by more people than his humble nature would have let him guess. He is preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Ken Dean. He is survived by his sister Wanda, his son James, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for friends and family this Friday the 20th, 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sebastopol.
