Jodean Rowan Lawrence

Jodean Rowan Lawrence passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2010 in Santa Rosa California at the age of 77. She is survived by her son Del Russo of Santa Rosa and cousin Ron Sutherland of Hayward, CA. She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine (Zupan) Busby and father James Busby. Born on November 12th, 1932 in Sacramento, CA she grew up in Napa and received her theatre and film training at the Pasadena Playhouse in Southern California. Jodean performed on stage in Los Angeles at Theatre West, and at the Cellar, Cast and Nomads Theatres; in Rome, Italy in the early 1960s; and on Broadway, in But Seriously, Folks in 1969. She appeared in Foxfire at Spreckles Performing Arts Center and Taking a Stab at O'Keefe at Studio Be after moving to Sonoma County in the early 1990s. Her film credits include Airport, Harrad Summer, Funny Lady, Johnny Got His Gun, Soylant Green, Gable and Lombard, and Revenge of the Virgins, which has become a camp classic. She had guest starring roles in such TV shows as Rockford Files, Marcus Welby MD, Fame, Archie Bunker's Place, Six Million Dollar Man, Falcon's Crest, Little House on The Prairie, and Streets of San Francisco. She held major running roles in General Hospital, The Young and Restless, and Days of Our Lives. Jodean was larger than life. She was bold, always spoke her mind and challenged those around her to do the same. She was beautiful, inside and out and she loved those close to her with all her heart. She was a talented actress with a passion for truth through her art who inspired those around her to seek that same truth. She will be greatly missed.
