John Johnson Obituary

Passed peacefully at home on September 9, 2010. Born May 24, 1919 in Dunkirk, New York to Frank and Catherine Johnson. Predeceased by parents and four sisters: Genevieve Gloss, Loretta Barone, Dorothy Thompson and Evelyn Benedict. Graduated Dunkirk High School June 1937. Married to O. Carolyn "Sandy" Fuller of Fredonia, NY on August 28, 1941. Father of James H. and John F. Johnson, Bonnie Armstrong, Jacquelyn (Jaci) Oshun. Grandfather to seven: Jennifer and Aubrie Armstrong, Fawna Pintor, Lukus Noteman and Ian, Alex and Zack Johnson. Great grandfather of three to: Gabriel Pintor, Brookelyn Noteman, Brennus Parks and baby soon to be. Enlisted in Navy September 1, 1942. Served in Naval Communication Intelligence, discharged November 19, 1945. Employed as Credit Manager, Commercial Sales and Store Manager in Dunkirk, NY, Brawley and San Mateo, CA for Firestone Tire & Rubber after 18 years retired and entered the Real-Estate field as Broker and Loan Officer with Great Western Savings. Retired December 31, 1986. Moved to Santa Rosa, CA 1987 and toured the US, Canada and Mexico in RV. Sold RV to visit Europe, Canada, South America, Hawaii and Japan. Enjoyed sports throughout his life, basketball, baseball, pool, tennis, bowling and golf. John loved to dance and was a jokester ready to laugh!

I will always remember his funny laugh and silly wise cracks. He was a very sweet man under a sometimes rough exterior. I love and miss you Grandpa John.
