Passed away at the age of 76 on Monday October 29, 2012 with her family by her side. She was born in Carson City, Nevada on February 21, 1936 and was a resident of Santa Rosa for 41 years. She and her husband David were loyal, active members of the Santa Rosa Moose Lodge, having joined not long after moving to Sonoma County. She retired from JC Penney's in 2003 where she had worked for 32 years. She loved to crochet, bird watch and spend time with her family. She was always there for her family and never said no when asked for help. Words cannot express how very deeply our loss is felt or how much she will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, David E. Hilderbrand, Sr., her son-in-law Dale Ruddell and four of her siblings. She is survived by her sons David Jr. and Daniel Hilderbrand; her daughters Debra Ruddell, Denise Rydberg (Gary), and Dianne Spencer (John) of Georgia; sisters Edna Smith of Kernville, CA, Cecelia Stewart of Reno, NV, and Betty Norman of Citrus Heights, CA. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Jessica Ruddell (Tony), Derek Rydberg (Carley), Alicia Hilderbrand, Donald Ruddell and Joel Spencer (Candacie), great-grandchildren: Michaela, Derek Jr., Logan and Addilyn, as well as several nieces and nephews. Burial will be a private internment at Santa Rosa Memorial Park on Saturday, November 17 at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to an informal gathering at "Dave and Jo's" house from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
