Leah Steinocher Obituary

46 of Santa Rosa, passed away suddenly and peacefully into the loving arms of God on December 11, 2010. She was in a Hospice Center with family and Father Larry at her side. She is the only child of Gail (Decker-Wehrkamp) Robison of CA. and her dad, Gary Wehrkamp of NV. She was loved and cared for by a wonderful step-father, Chet Robison, Gail's husband of almost 32 years. Leah's parents families, the Decker's and Wehrkamps are all residents of Watertown, SD. Leah was born in December in Santa Rosa. She graduated from Montgomery High School and Santa Rosa School of Cosmetology. She loved the profession and everyone who met her, loved her beautiful smile and kind, giving heart. She loved her family and cared for others before herself. Leah is survived by her mother, Gail and loving step-father Chet Robison of Pismo Beach, CA; father Gary Wehrkamp of Las Vegas; two beautiful children, Daniel and Shelby of Santa Rosa. She loved them deeply and they loved her "from here to eternity." Also survived by her aunt Carol (Wehrkamp) Koch; her cousin, Jody (Koch) Walsh; and Gail's aunt Audrey Sweet all of Watertown, SD; along with many aunt, uncles and cousins in several states. Also survived by Rick Robison and Shelly (Robison) Sourek of Santa Rosa. We will all miss her. She will be held in all our hearts and comforted knowing she is without suffering as expressed in our Christian faith that all believers in Jesus shall live with our Lord Jesus forever! Leah was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Albert and Grace Coon, grandparents, Eugene and Betty Decker and grandparents, Art & Iola Wehrkamp. A graveside service is pending for July 2011 during a family reunion. Leah was laid to rest between Gail's parents, Eugene and Betty Decker, and Leah's maternal grandparents at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown, SD., on her birthday, December 30, 2010.

I very much enjoyed Leah's sunny smile and cheerful greeting when she came in to have lunch where I work. She had a great sense of humor and was friendly to everyone. We liked to banter back and forth, because I am also Leah.

I will always remember Leah with the LONG Blond hair at Village Elementary School. Although I have not seen her since our school days in Santa Rosa, she will always be a person that I remember fondly while we were growing up. I'm sorry for your loss, it sounds like she touched many lives and will be missed by all.
