It is with great sadness that the family of Lilli Kruusmagi announce her death. A devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother passed away in Santa Rosa after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Frankfurt Germany she lived through difficult times as a young teenager in Germany during World War II. In 1957, she moved to San Francisco with her husband Evald and their three small children. In 1960 the family relocated to San Rafael and lived there for more that 50 years. Despite early hardships she maintained a sweet and positive disposition and was well liked by all who met her. She was industrious, hard working and succeeded as a small business owner while raising three children. She spent the last one and a half years of her life at Vineyard Commons in Santa Rosa. She enjoyed the many activities and outings they offered especially painting and dancing. She is survived by her sister Erika Krebs and brother Karl Rauleder who reside in Germany, her children Jack, Tom (Loretta), Ellen and her grandchildren Amanda, Daniel and Brittany. We all benefited from her experiences in life by realizing that with hard work, determination and a positive outlook anything is possible. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend memorial services at Parent -Sorensen Mortuary, 850 Keokuk St. Petaluma on Sunday November 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will be held afterward at the home of Tom and Loretta Kruusmagi, 1100 Santa Barbara Way, Petaluma.
