Lorraine Reilich Obituary

REILICH, Lorraine Tortessi ( aka *Rock Rock*) September 4, 1947 - November 20, 2010 Although she was *too cute to die*, sadly, Lorraine Tortessi Reilich did pass away from lung cancer, with her step-daughter Eileen holding her hand, on November 20, 2010. She was *way too young to go* at 63 years and 2 months. Born in Pueblo, CO to Sam and Vivian Tortessi Lorraine came to California and succeeded at being an independent woman; achieving a Bachelor's of Arts degree and a satisfying career starting at West Valley Engineering, then working at NBI supporting the nation's first word processor, and prior to her retirement she was an Administrative Assistant in a Real Estate Investment and Property Management Firm for Ms. Sharon Call. She finally found the love of her life in Harry Daniel Reilich, whom she married in 1978. They were married for 32 happy years enjoying a long and loving life together; a true love story. They loved flying their plane to Clark Fork, Idaho where they had a second home and spent part of each year. Having no birth children, Lorraine considered, appreciated and loved her step-children Eileen and Kenneth as her own. In her work, she managed everybody and everything with an iron hand and a dedicated eye to detail. Her co-workers said that she was beloved by all. Interested in the arts and possessing a keen mind Lorraine enjoyed theatre, museums, and excelled at mentalist games. Being learned, she was an extremely interesting conversationalist. Her sense of humor and intelligent dry wit continuously entertained and amused those around her. Lorraine was a realist, down to earth, honest and she liked to get to the point. Her friends describe her as an inspirational hero; one of the strongest, gentle, most kind people they have known. Wickedly intelligent, vibrantly beautiful, passionate about life, classily stylish, full of joie d vivre, kind, gentle, loyal and encouraging to her many friends, she will be sorely missed by all of us who loved her. Predeceased in death by her husband Harry by three weeks, and brother Don Tortessi of Pueblo, CO; Lorraine is survived by her step-children Eileen Reilich, her husband Peter Lesser of Olympia, Washington and Ken Reilich and his wife, Simms Reilich of San Diego, California; and by cousins Bill and Marilyn McDonald of Marietta, GA. Lorraine's remains will be reunited with her beloved husband Harry when they are inurned together at Fort Rosecrans National Military Cemetery Jan 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. on Point Loma in San Diego, CA. Gifts in Lorraine's name are greatly appreciated and may be made to Sutter VNA Hospice at http://www.suttervnaandhospice.org/gifts/ or 1-800-541-5045.
